Rose & Grey Bloggers’ Cocktail Glasses Styling Challenge

July 15, 2015

A few weeks ago we invited a selection of bloggers to take part in a styling challenge and you may remember that the task was to style a set of three of our wild flower jam jars.  It was so hard to pick a winner from the beautiful entries we received, but in the end we chose the one from Capture By Lucy.  For this second styling challenge, it seemed like the perfect time of year to invite our Style Ambassadors to have fun styling a cocktail set of their choice from Rose & Grey.

They were able to choose from retro Daiquiri, Margarita or Champagne cocktail glasses and these gift boxed pairs of glasses come complete with cute accessories such as stirrers, straws and coasters.  Again, we left it to our Style Ambassadors to do what they wish with their props and we received a lovely variety of entries.  Once more we have been so impressed with the creative talent; not all these bloggers are professional stylists, but we think they probably should be!

As well as coming up with beautiful imagery, our Style Ambassadors have been busy creating some delicious cocktails along the way and sharing the recipes on their blogs, too, so do check them out.  The Pomegranate Champagne that Karen Barlow mixed up looks absolutely delicious, while Janice Issitt picked elderberry flowers to make an Elderflower cocktail in her Margarita glasses.

The Twinkle Diaries entry was a ‘Jubarb’ cocktail which is an enticing combination of homemade rhubarb cordial and gin.  Over at Lapin Blu, you can find a beautiful elderflower, vanilla and pear champagne cocktail.  The Fairytale Pretty Picture made a refreshing strawberry and mint daiquiri, while Raspberry Limoncello Fizz was Apartment No 4’s cocktail of choice – another refreshing one that we bet tastes great!

Borrowed Light tried two different drinks in their Champagne glasses – an Elderflower & Champagne Cocktail with cucumber & mint for garnish and then a Raspberry Champagne Cocktail.  Karen from ‘Well I Guess this is Growing Up’ mixed a classic Margarita using Tequila and presented her glasses with a half-salted rim.  Ruth at Gathered Cheer came up with a very original idea which was to use her glasses to hold a grown up raspberry and elderflower jelly desert, topped with mint and clotted cream.

The Villa on Mount Pleasant’s Tamsyn styled her pink champagne in the vintage champagne glasses with lots of pretty blooms for a very summery look.  Meanwhile, Little Birdie took her glasses out on an evening picnic and sipped a fruity Pineapple Mint Prosecco  – sounds delicious and the Pineapple Mint Syrup recipe is on her blog.  There were a couple of non-alcoholic entries too, with Oh Style enjoying a rose-infused lemonade and The Ordinary Lovely throwing an impromptu party for her son, serving cloudy lemonade – we loved his tropical sunglasses!

And not everyone used the cocktail glasses for drinks… watch this space for a blog post about a particularly unusual entry that really thinks outside the box, from Ginger Bisquite!

And The Winner Is…

Well done to everyone who took part and thanks for the inspiration.  After a hard task deciding on our winner for this challenge, we are pleased to announce that it is the entry from Lapin Blu that takes the prize.  Well done to Sarah-Louise who wins a £150 Rose & Grey voucher!  We loved the way she documented the process of making her elderflower syrup and all her gorgeous photos.

Look out for another exciting challenge next season and in the meantime you can check out all the entries below over on our Styling For Summer Pinterest board.
