Our Guide to Altrincham: The Home of our Showroom

If you’re travelling from further afield to visit our sofa showroom you may be a little unsure of the local area and what it has to offer. We’re based in the market town of Altrincham, South Manchester, which has garnered nationwide attention over the last few years due to its regeneration. In fact in 2020 it was named ‘The Best Place to Live in the UK’ by The Sunday Times and remains ‘The Best Place to Live in the Northwest’ in 2021.

Eat & Drink

Whether you’re after breakfast, lunch or dinner there’s plenty of options to choose from. Firstly, the old market turned modern food hall now known as Market House, which is often credited as being at the forefront of the town’s revitalisation, has itself a wide variety of options from coffee and cake to pizza and pie.

Another favourite of ours is Batch Deli and its sister business just next door, Batch Bottlestore. Located in Kings Court, a cosy little courtyard, it’s the perfect place to sit back and relax with a sandwich and beer in hand.

If you’re after a taste of Italy on your visit, Sugo is our go-to option. Specialising in Southern Italian cooking, they certainly know their pasta. It’s only small and very popular so make sure to book in advance.

A few other places our team love are California Coffee & Wine, Gran T’s, Porta and Tre Ciccio.

While you’re in the town centre for a bite to eat, you could also go for a wander around the independent shops and stalls. Our favourites are all within easy walking distance of the market hall, like Idaho, which is just opposite. A lifestyle shop, it sells a beautifully curated selection of home goods, gifts and cards.

Have a stroll around the outdoor stalls at Altrincham Market and soak up the atmosphere. They sell everything from fruit and veg to jewellery and gifts. Just make sure you’re there on a market day: Tues, Fri, Sat & Sun.

Also take a look at Edit & Oak for gifts and small accessories, Tasty Records if you’re into vinyl and Moss Studio-Store if you fancy booking into a pottery class.

Explore the Outdoors

The countryside is just down the road from our showroom; we’re within easy reach of the Bridgewater Canal Path and the Trans Pennine cycle Trail. If you’re in need of fresh air after a long drive why not visit Dunham Massey, where you can explore the 300-acre ancient deer park, experience the Grade I listed Georgian House and take a stroll around the beautifully maintained gardens.

With all this to see and do just don’t forget to visit us! We are very happy to be fully opening our showroom with no need for appointments from 21st June.
