We love to see where and how our products have been used, so were delighted when Specialist Property Investor, Stephen Woods sent over photographs of the beautiful Budapest apartment that he has renovated! Our French Grey Dining Chairs, French Style Folding Mirror and Vintage Style Filing Tray were all included in the beautiful apartment, which is available to rent on Airbnb.
Stephen is based in Buenos Aires, but this is the second apartment that he has worked on in Budapest. All of the details of the project were managed from his base in South America, and the furniture and fittings were chosen online from the UK and shipped over to Hungary. Despite this being a period restoration project, modern technology was key in its implementation. Stephen viewed and selected the items that he wished to include online and managed the inventory using Google documents. Although Stephen was on the other side of the world, the project has been completed beautifully, with an acute attention to detail throughout the apartment.
“This is the second project I have done in Budapest which involved recovering what was an office back into its previous use as a residential apartment of 115 square metres. It’s in a prestigious building close to the famous Szabadsag Square and is a good example of neo-classical architecture built at the height of the Austro-Hungarian empire. For this reason we introduced antique illumination, French ‘belle epoque’ style wall mouldings, parquet floors and of course the lovely period style chairs!”
Combining pure luxury with all mod-cons and an impeccable location, this apartment should be your first choice for a city break in Budapest. Located just a couple of minutes walk from the Danube river, it is located within District V, within easy reach of some of the city’s most beautiful sights including the Parliament building, Szabadsag Square and Margaret Island. The spacious apartment includes a home office, making it the ideal choice for those travelling for business or who wish to have a quiet space to work. The furniture and fittings have been expertly selected to reflect the history of the building whilst creating an eclectic space that touches upon contemporary and industrial influences.
“The idea was to recreate a beautiful period feel to the apartment with a light touch. The hallway deserved special mention as its almost 12 metres long so it created its own special design challenges. We chose to zone it in two spaces – one with a chaise lounge for reading and the second a spectacular evening dining area with original artwork by Pablo Casullo from Buenos Aires and the gorgeous chairs from Rose & Grey.”
